Kering
Kering is a French-based global Luxury group that manages the development of a series of renowned Houses in Fashion, Leather Goods, Jewelry and Watches: Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, Qeelin, Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux, as well as Kering Eyewear. By placing creativity at the heart of its strategy, Kering enables its Houses to set new limits in terms of their creative expression while crafting tomorrow’s Luxury in a sustainable and responsible way. In 2019, Kering had nearly 38,000 employees and revenue of €15.9 billion.[1]
Its portfolio includes luxury brands specialized in the design, the making and the sale of fine products, especially in the leather goods, shoes, ready-to-wear, watches and jewellery sectors. Kering Eyewear (30%-owned by Richemont) produces glasses for the luxury sector.[2]
Stand in solidarity against racism
In response to the numerous anti-racism mobilisations around the world, the luxury group Kering and its brands are committed to the fight for racial justice. “Too many black lives have been lost in the fight for equality in America. We will not stand by silently,” the group said in an official statement.[3]
On behalf of all its brands, Kering have decided to support organizations committed to fighting racism and police violence against the black community in the United States. The group is thus offers donations to several organizations:
- The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), which fights against racial discrimination in the United States.
- Campaign Zero, an organization that aims to reduce police violence in the United States.[4]
the Group and its brands committed that they will continue to develop initiatives and internal programs to foster respect, equality and fairness, recognizing that it is a journey.
