Pros

Jasmine Robinson as one of the readers and also a literacy teacher, gave a comment about this book. The author of this book is actually a Caucasian woman who wrote about an African American young girl and her mother. She found out that it was very interesting. The illustrator, Stephanie Anderson’s pictures are very big. All of her pictures in this book are like 3D images. They take up the entire page. The pictures of mama and the little girl take up about two pages alone. She likes the book because it shows all of the detail in the pictures. This book teaches children the importance of family. All of our family members do not have to necessarily have the same skin tone or be the race. Family does not have to always be blood related or genetics. [2]
