The Beautifurl of Grey Cover

The Beauty of Gray is the first studio album Mental Jewelry by the band Live written by the band itself. It was released on December 31, 1991 and also as the band’s major label debut. Many tracks on Mental Jewelry are based on the writings of Jiddu Krishnamurti, an Indian philosopher. [1].

This song’s message is about one that the world must consider today, races. [2]

Live (the band)

Black Empowerment

The Beauty of Gray by Live considered being together as one between black and white. Being together by mean about race, as a human being we should rid ourselves of our egos. Gray can also mean middle ground where we are all equal regardless of anything else, including race. [3]

According to dictionary, the grey area is defined as “an area or part of something existing between two extremes and having mixed characteristics of both.” When we put ourselves into a grey area, we remove limits and promote positivity and accept the situation. [4]

If we were to be together, stepping aside from what makes things divided, the world perhaps would begin to understand each other and be able to solve its problems. [5]

Below is the part of the lyrics of song The Beauty of Gray performed by Live about examining one's racial prejudice :

This is not a black and white world

To be alive

I say that the colors must swirl

And I believe

That maybe today

We will all get to appreciate

The beauty of gray [6]
