World Trade Center station (PATH)

  • ... that the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, built after the September 11 attacks, cost $4 billion and was described as the world's most expensive train station? Sources: (1) NY Times, "How Cost of Train Station at World Trade Center Swelled to $4 Billion", 2014. The cost is in the title. Also, "Its colossal avian presence may yet guarantee the hub a place in the pantheon of civic design in New York. But it cannot escape another, more ignominious distinction as one of the most expensive and most delayed train stations ever built." (2) Business Insider, 2016. "Nearly 15 years after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the World Trade Center Transportation Hub is now partially open to the public. [...] The design for the station was first revealed in 2004. It was projected to take five years and only $2.2 billion to complete, but after 12 years and many complications, $2.2 billion turned into $4 billion, making the Transportation Hub the most expensive train station ever."

  • Symbol confirmed.svg New enough? Green tickY Became a GA same day it was nominated here. Long enough? Green tickY More than long enough. Within policy? Green tickY I think so. Hook short enough? Green tickY Yes. Content suitable? Green tickY Entirely suitable, as far as I care tell. WP:QPQ has already been fulfilled, so I am going to pass this nomination with no objections. It seems completely acceptable for DYK. --Katolophyromai (talk) 01:40, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
