Kimberley Kitching

  • ... that Kimberley Kitching was pre-selected to fill an Australian Labor Party vacancy in the Australian Senate following Stephen Conroy's resignation? Source: "Former Health Services Union official Kimberley Kitching will replace Labor veteran senator Stephen Conroy in Canberra" (Dziedzic, Stephen (13 October 2016). "Stephen Conroy: Labor factional brawl ends as Kimberley Kitching replaces outgoing senator". ABC News. Retrieved 13 October 2016.)

  • Symbol question.svg New enough and old enough. The source for the Royal Commission claim says that criminal charges were recommended, not that she was questioned there. Sources #13, #16 and #17 are tripping me up at finding the claims, are they in some sentences there? I can't help but notice that a number of sources are highly critical and some are marked as opinion pieces (#12), none of that is in the article which is probably a good thing. No copyvio or plagiarism noticeable. Hook is reliably sourced, short enough, moderately "hooking" and sourced inline. QPQ is done. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:51, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
  • I've added another source for the Royal Commission (which is a transcript of her testimony) as well as the bit about the Fair Work Commission.
I've broadened the bit about Melbourne Council to make it fit into what the two sources say (which is basically that she was involved in the council at that period). It was based on an offline source, which I didn't cite.
Generally, sources seem to be pretty critical, the only thing that opinion piece (#12) is supporting is that she left the HSU a few years later (which probably doesn't need a source, given that she isn't there now). Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 07:15, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol question.svg How does this hook meet the "interesting" criterion? Can nothing better be found? Edwardx (talk) 22:39, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Template:Ping Any suggestions? Maybe something like, "that the Australian Labor Party has selected Kimberley Kitching as the new senator for Victoria to replace Stephen Conroy". Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 07:15, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol question.svg Not much better. I don't think it will be easy to find an interesting statement here, unfortunately. I also think that the Template:Tq needs to be dropped entirely as a) it's fairly close to the text of the source (although it may fall under the scope of WP:LIMITED) and b) the source isn't referencing the Vice President directly, but rather Eric Abetz who in turn referenced the Vice President, and some of the statements in that article make me wonder if it is reliable. • I agree with Jo-Jo Eumerus. None of the hook suggestions so far are "interesting". Edwardx (talk) 21:33, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to try to help out with the hook, but I find the article incredibly hard to read, as it jumps back and forth chronologically. Moreover, nothing is said of her early life or education. After the lead, could you put things in clear, encyclopedic order? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 22:44, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol possible vote.svg Callanecc, you have not responded to the most recent comments here about issues with the hooks and article, and a mid-November notification to your talk page has been archived without any action. We need to hear from you by the end of this month. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:37, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
