Ibn Thabit (Libyan musician)

(edit nomination page)

Created/expanded by AshLin (talk). Self nom at 15:03, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Symbol question.svg Date of creation verified. The article is less than 1400 characters long, falling short of the DYK minimum of 1500 characters. It also has been tagged a "stub" and an "orphan" and has the "citation needed" tag after on of the factual assertions. These issues need to be remedied. Other elements of the review to be completed, if needed, following expansion and cleanup. Cbl62 (talk) 18:46, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Expanded to meet DYK requirement - was over 1500 but I had shifted material into a quote & forgot to supplement it. Now well over 1500. 'Citation needed' was placed by me as I searched for a specific reference. Settled for a generic one instead and reworded the sentence. Re-assessed as 'Start' class, no longer 'stub'. Have already linked the article to Hip hop. Linking to more. Will report again later. AshLin (talk) 03:30, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg Looks good now. Cbl62 (talk) 22:02, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Symbol question.svg I pulled the nomination from the current prep because after accounting for the quoted text, it is just a couple of characters over 1400 (I counted 1406 characters). Would it be possible to expand this article any further? Calmer Waters 07:28, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
  • I cut back on the quotes by rewriting. Crisco 1492 (talk) 08:58, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
  • I think your method of counting is different from what is recommended i.e. Pagesize & DYKCheck scripts, both of which I use. When you posted this observation, the scripts confirmed to me the article size for this version was 1697 bytes. However, I have expanded it further, the current version now reflects as 2264 bytes. Trust this meets your requirement. Let me know if there is anything else/. AshLin (talk) 09:04, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the copyedit, Crisco 1492. AshLin (talk) 09:04, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Usually the amount of quoted text doesn't matter as long as there is enough original prose to bring it over the 1500 character/ 5x threshold. Both prose counting tools do not account for quoted text when running the check unless it is blocked quotes. I only checked further because when reviewing it for placement in the queues it did have some significant quotes in regards to its then length (over 250+). I hope that explains why it passed the DYKcheck, but not the min length requirements. Would also like to thank Crisco 1492 for adding to the article. Calmer Waters 18:44, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
  • You're welcome. So is it good to go? Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:52, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
