British Wreck Commissioner's inquiry into the sinking of the RMS Titanic
- ... that High Court judge Lord Mersey (pictured) presided over the British Wreck Commissioner's inquiry into the sinking of the RMS Titanic?

ALT1 ... that the British Wreck Commissioner's inquiry into the sinking of the RMS Titanic (pictured) was called a "whitewash" after it found that the disaster had not been caused by negligence?
- This interesting article is both new enough and long enough. The hook for ALT1 is accepted in good faith. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:34, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Reverting the promotion due to a dubious tag and unreferenced paragraph (background section). Also, I'm fixing the DYK make credits Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:30, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- Two notes: (1) There is a 'twin' nomination at Template:Did you know nominations/United States Senate inquiry into the sinking of the RMS Titanic. (2) The image proposed for the second hook will not work well at the size used by DYK on the main page. Carcharoth (talk) 08:02, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- On the latter point, I'll see if I can produce a cropped version of the image that would work better. Prioryman (talk) 08:06, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- I've had a go, but I can't get the image to work at that size. I'll suggest a second alternative hook, along with the original image. I've also sorted out the dubious tag and unreferenced para. Prioryman (talk) 21:29, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I'm happy with the ALT2 hook below. Carcharoth (talk) 01:51, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- ALT2 ... that the British inquiry into the sinking of the RMS Titanic was criticised as a "whitewash" after Lord Mersey (pictured) found that the disaster had not been caused by negligence?
- That ALT2 hook looks good. I'll ask Crisco 1492 if this can be marked as ready and held back until the related nomination is ready. Carcharoth (talk) 01:51, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'd say just move it to holding. Crisco 1492 (talk) 12:51, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
