Bobby Chalmers

Created/expanded by Cliftonian (talk). Self nom at 01:37, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

  • Okay, I've done so. I think perhaps we should keep this one back for a while until I have written more of the article anyway, it isn't finished yet. Cliftonian (talk) 10:04, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg This dates to January and appears to pass the newness test as the expansion for five fold was on the 26th of January. It is long enough. Article is completely cited, with inline citations. No obvious BLP violations. Plagiarism check: Here, here, here. No concerns about online sources. Hook is interesting and supported by sources. Hook is properly formatted. All media on page has proper copyrights. Author has reviewed another article.
  • Pictogram voting keep.svg There are a few cheerleading words in here from a sport perspective. I don't think they are particularly aggreious. If this was WP:GA, I'd probably harp on them more. Pictogram voting keep.svg the inline citations support the text.
  • Symbol question.svg Article has "Needs expansion" tags in it. The requirements don't say if this diisqualifies an article. I'm tempted to remove them to make sure this goes, because the article otherwise appears to meet criteria.

Inclination: Symbol confirmed.svg is good to go. :) --LauraHale (talk) 06:28, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

  • Thanks, Laura. I'll be sure you let you know if this goes to GAN and you can harp on the cheerleading terms there. On the expansion templates, I would not recommend removing them as this article is not finished yet – most of the important stuff is there but there are still some gaps, and taking out the expansion tags might cause confusion. • Sport articles have a criticism for that. I don't think it is particularly problematic. It can be hard to describe some one's performance and indicate how good they are and how much they matter with out using them so I'm not particularly bothered but they exist. And yeah, hopefully some one decides to ignore the expansion bits. If not, : / . --LauraHale (talk) 19:27, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm not complaining about it; I always appreciate criticism for my writing, though I do make a general effort to base positive statements about people (including athletes) on attributed sources, or even quotations for anything that may be seen as overly positive (or negative). On the expansion stuff, an alternative is for me to stop being so lazy and actually write the bloody thing. We will have to see how much spare time I have over the coming days. • Argh. Okay, I don't have time to completely finish this now, but I'll just do the minimum to fix this for DYK... Cliftonian (talk) 23:40, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Okay, should be good now. The international section is finished and the Maritzburg section has a little bit in it from 1969 (running up to the World Cup, which is the important bit for the hook). I'll do more when I have more time but this should be enough for now (I hope). Cliftonian (talk) 00:26, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Symbol confirmed.svg Tags are all removed from the article! :D --LauraHale (talk) 01:11, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
