Argentine Confederation

  • Pictogram voting keep.svg I'm not even going to bother running it through an edit counter, the 5x expansion is very evident. The offline source is accepted in good faith and the tone is neutral. All of the copyrights for the images check out. The hook isn't too long, is referenced directly and neutral.
The only small quibble I would make is that I wish the hook was a bit more interesting. It's kinda bland right now and it looks like there's a lot of other information in the article that could be used for a more compelling hook. SilverserenC 02:36, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that's what I thought first, but then I run into a problem: a successful hook tells the reader info they did not know about someone or something they do know. Which is the problem with Rosas, Urquiza, Mitre or the military conflicts mentioned: most readers (very few of them, if anyone at all, is from Argentina) have no idea about them. That's why I selected this hook, because non-Argentine people is more likely to know that Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina, and that Buenos Aires was not part of Argentina for almost a decade is the type of information that may drive a casual reader to want to read more. I guess that a hook "Did you know that Urquiza did this and that...?" would be received with a "Who is Urquiza? Let's see the next hook".
However, I may be wrong. You have a pair of userboxes about US parties, so I guess you are from the US. Tell me, had you ever heard something about the peoples or events described in that article before reading the article? If you did, I may try to propose a hook about such person or event Cambalachero (talk) 04:04, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
I guess that makes sense. And, no, I haven't heard about them. I just wish it coul dbe spiced up a bit, but I guess it will work fine. Nevermind then. SilverserenC 04:32, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
