Angolan slender mongoose

  • ... that different colour forms of the Angolan slender mongoose are found on either side of the Cunene River? Source: "Individuals with tan or yellowish pelage (hence 'flavescens') are confined to southwestern Angola, whereas those with very dark, nearly black pelage (hence 'nigratus')—yet with a distinctive rufus tinge—occur in northwestern and northcentral Namibia "

  • Hi Cwmhiraeth, I'll take a look at this one. There seems to be an error in the wording of ALT1, can you take a look? - Dumelow (talk) 09:22, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
Template:Ping Thanks. I have corrected it. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:50, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
Hi Cwmhiraeth, something still seems off with it? It says a dark form is found both north and south of the river? - Dumelow (talk) 07:16, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
Template:Ping Two errors in one hook, is it a record? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:05, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
Symbol possible vote.svg No worries Cwmhiraeth, review follows: article 5x expanded 14 August; article exceeds minimum length; article is well written and cited inline to reliable sources in the main body; hook fact is cited and checks out (it can be seen that the Cunene River forms the border between Angola and Namibia in the range of this animal); I noticed no overly close paraphrasing; QPQ has been done. However one issue I have is that currently the lead contains factual information that is not supported by the main article. The text in question follows - Dumelow (talk) 08:50, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
"It lives in the savannah and avoids desert and dense forests. This animal has a long slim body and the males are around 15% bigger than the females. There are several different colour forms, black, dark brown, and yellowish- or reddish-brown. Males do not help in raising the young. The young open their eyes at 3 weeks and leave their mother at around 10 weeks and at 24 weeks get their adult teeth."
Template:Ping That bit was there before I started expanding the article. I have removed it and expanded the lead a bit. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:17, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
Symbol confirmed.svg Nice one, ticked - Dumelow (talk) 09:22, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
