Angevins

  • Reviewed: Not a self-nomination.

Improved to Good Article status by Norfolkbigfish (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk) at 19:57, 26 June 2014 (UTC).

  • Symbol confirmed.svg This new Good Article conforms to the DYK requirements of newness and length. The hook is sourced to a reliable site. No QPQ needed. No policy issues observed. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:51, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Symbol possible vote.svg I pulled this from the queue because the source doesn't state that "many historians" think this. Either a further source needs to be found, or the hook needs tweaking. Gatoclass (talk) 09:07, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
    • I have never got involved in any of this before but have added cited sources to the Angevins and the statement that in the lead that many historians do think this (plus the official website of the UK monarchy). Although if this muddies the waters the difference between many and some is a mute point and perhaps the hook needs changing (however and by whomever perhaps you could let me know) Template:Ping Norfolkbigfish (talk) 13:45, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, but I think you may need to massage that text a little more as I don't think it's entirely clear. For one thing, you have an incomplete sentence (the one starting with "Though ... ") and for another, you start by saying the Angevins were part of the House of Plantagenet but then go on to say historians differ as to whether Henry II was a Plantagenet or Angevin King, which doesn't make much sense when the reader has just been informed one house was part of the other. Gatoclass (talk) 14:11, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, have massaged that sentence—what do you think Template:Ping? Norfolkbigfish (talk) 14:44, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
It looks better, but I'm really too tired to think about it now and am about to log off. I will take another look tomorrow, sorry for the delay. Gatoclass (talk) 14:49, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Hi Template:Ping - have you had a chance to give this another look? Ta Norfolkbigfish (talk) 08:58, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
Not yet, but I haven't forgotten about it. Unfortunately, I have been getting next to no help at DYK recently, I posted the last update last night and when I came back this morning found the next update was 8 hours overdue! After coming back from an appointment, I finally managed to get the next update posted 12 hours late but the prep after that is only half done so that is my priority tonight. If I have time after that I will try to wrap up some of the other things I have committed to do like this nom, but it depends on how much time I can find to spare. Symbol voting keep.svg The new text looks fine and I am AGFing on the hook fact because most of the sources are offline. Gatoclass (talk) 09:19, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
