Anecdotes de Suède

  • ... that Swedish Anecdotes, a satire against the regime of Charles XI of Sweden (1660–1697), appeared in French, German, and English, before finally being published in Swedish in 1822?
  • Reviewed: I'm on it.
  • Comment: Note: Template:U created this on 25 January; Hafspajen picked it up a few days later and expanded it to DYK length. I feel that SenfBaum, a new editor who has created a number of articles already, deserves DYK credit for starting it in the first place: new editors need encouragement, and 25 January is not that long ago. For some background, please see User_talk:Yngvadottir#32_Men. Thanks!

Symbol question.svg date and length fine, interesting, sourced hook. Minor points: I would recommend to move the image of Gyllenstierna further down to where he is mentioned: I thought he was the author. (You can imagine what I would like to see in that corner.) I would mention the time elapsed in the hook, at least something like "more than 100 years later" (instead of "finally"). Can you avoid saying "published" twice? No review needed, but go ahead if you want to donate one, it's appreciated! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:59, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you Template:U. I've tweaked the hook (in part by adding the dates for the king, which Template:U will no doubt equip with the proper nbsp) and might still donate a review somewhere. Template:U and Template:U, please consider Gerda's comment on the image. Drmies (talk) 23:55, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
  • No " " required, but I did swap in the correct en dash. BTW, notifications are not generated in Template space, so those user links serve no purpose other than adding a little color. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 20:34, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Better, but who wants the life data of the king in a DYK? Try again, and please make it a ALT1, that people can follow the discussion ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:27, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • ALT1: ... that Anecdotes de Suède, a polemic against the Swedish regime of the 1680s, may have been written by a German or a Frenchman living in Sweden? Yoninah (talk) 18:42, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • I like the beginning, but would continue as above, because almost anything can be said with "may have been", - would not catch my attention. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:03, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
  • ALT2: ... that Anecdotes de Suède, a polemic against the Swedish regime of the 1680s, appeared in French, German, and English before finally being published in Swedish in 1822? Yoninah (talk) 19:50, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Symbol voting keep.svg ALT2 (striking the others), but will watch if the others involved have reservations. Offline sources accepted AGF, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:38, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
