Alibabavum 40 Thirudargalum (1956 film)

  • Symbol question.svg Recently promoted to GA, well written, within policy, no-copy vio I could detect, and the hooks are cited, just need a QPQ done to go. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 08:52, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
Template:U, I don't understand. What else do we have to do to finish this DYK? I want this to appear on the main page on 17 January (the centenary of the lead actor M. G. Ramachandran), so have I followed the right steps? Kailash29792 (talk) 09:29, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
After you've had 5 articles nominated for DYK, you need to review an article by someone else, for each of your article that goes through the nomination process. This meets what is called the "Quid Pro Quo" or QPQ requirement. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 01:59, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Alright then, I review someone else's DYK then notify you guys of that. Then this DYK ends, right? Kailash29792 (talk) 03:10, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Template:Ping Sorry for the delay, yes review someone else's DYK and mention it here. Thanks. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 07:16, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
Done I've posted a comment on Template:Did you know nominations/Bohdan Khmelnytsky Monument, Kiev. On an unrelated note, I thought that since we want this DYK to appear on MGR's birthday, will an alternate claim related to him be good? Kailash29792 (talk) 07:52, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
Template:Ping You need to review that properly, and yes you can suggest another fact about this DYK. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 12:26, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
In that case, I'd go with this: ALT2:... that Alibabavum 40 Thirudargalum (1956) was M. G. Ramachandran's final film with Modern Theatres?

  • Symbol possible vote.svg A full QPQ review was not provided by the nominator (here). A proper QPQ review needs to be performed before this can move forward. North America1000 20:52, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
  • Template:Ping you did far more than you needed to do on that QPQ; it was enough to say it was under 1500 characters and that it needed more referencing. Yoninah (talk) 21:44, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
  • I'd suggest combining both facts into a single hook as the original one is more interesting. Vensatry (talk) 11:55, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol voting keep.svg GA received on date of DYK nomination. New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. Offline hook ref AGF and cited inline. QPQ done. I agree with Template:U that the original hook is much more interesting. I don't see the need to pack in extra information to an already good hook by adding the lead actor's name and other information from ALT2. Nonetheless, I will move this to the holding area for January 17 per the nominator's request. ALT0 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 21:58, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
If a free/properly licensed image can be used for appearing on the DYK page, then I've got one here. Template:U, is it fine? Kailash29792 (talk) 13:23, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Template:Ping the image is freely licensed, so it's fine. However, it doesn't really go with the hook (ALT0) that we're using, and it also doesn't appear in the article. If any picture should be used to depict the lead actor, it probably should be a more formal portrait. Yoninah (talk) 13:34, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
Then fine. No image will be used. Because apart from this (taken when MGR was a teen) and the aforementioned image, there is no legitimately free/properly licensed image of MGR on Commons. The rest seem appear to be acts of plagiarism by uploaders, and getting permission from the actual owners of the image would be strenuous/impossible. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:00, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
