  • ... that Alhambra Nievas (pictured) was the first woman to referee a men's international rugby union match in Europe? Source: Telegraph

Created by Djln (talk) and The C of E (talk). Nominated by The C of E (talk) at 15:21, 2 January 2018 (UTC).

  • Symbol confirmed.svg Article meets the requirements of newness, length, image sourcing, stability, and sourcing. The hook is cited in the article, is of an adequate length and is interesting, so it is good to go. No copyright violations were detected. Djln does not require a QPQ, while The C of E has provided a QPQ. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:18, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Symbol possible vote.svg I have returned this from queue 6 because the hook and article statements differ; the hook says the subject was "the first female rugby union referee to referee a men's international match", period, while the article states (from memory) that she was the first to referee a men's "fifteen a side" rugby match or somesuch. • Template:Ping Shame this had to be pulled so close to promotion. Nevertheless I have edited the hook to clarify it is rugby union, (though if it were sevens, it would generally have said sevens), so hopefully it can be put back in the preps. Template:U, the rule is that the hook and the article have to say the same thing. Your hook makes no mention of "fifteen-a-side" rugby but that's what the article says. I have no idea whether international rugby is fifteen-a-side, or if there are multiple international rugby competitions with different numbers to a side, and neither will many other readers who are unfamiliar with rugby. So again, the hook and the article need to say the same thing, and also to say the same thing as the sources or this hook will just end up getting pulled again. Template:Ping I think that was coming from a literal translation from Spanish. I have fixed it now. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 17:33, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Sorry about this Template:U, but I'm still seeing a problem in that several of the sources add the qualifier "in Europe". So is she the first to referee a men's international rugby match, or only the first in Europe? Gatoclass (talk) 08:39, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
Template:U, it looks to me that you've put that in the wrong place in the article, as it's the Finland-Norway match that appears to need the qualifier. Also, the lead still states that she was the first to referee a men's international. Gatoclass (talk) 11:24, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
Template:Ping I have made the corrections now. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 11:32, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
