Ahmad ibn Muhammad Ardabili

[[File:|Script error: No such module "If empty".px |Shia jurist Moghaddas Ardabili. ]]
Shia jurist Moghaddas Ardabili.
  • ... that fellow scholars called Ahmad ibn Muhammad Ardabili, a Shia religious scholar, Mohaghegh due to his competence in research and non-scholars called him Muoghaddas due to his devotion?

  • Symbol possible vote.svg Can't see how any of the hooks fulfils the "interesting" criteria. Hook is too... technical? These two terms literally mean nothing to me nor it tells me why it's important/curious/interesting. And all of the alts suffer from the same problem: they doesn't give any reason why it might be interesting. Think about that: Why would I be interested in the fact that someone spoke to someone? (ad. ALT3) Your proposition doesn't give me any hint. SkywalkerPL (talk) 17:13, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Both the caption and the article identify him as a "jurisprudence", but that is a legal system. So, unless the word has some other meaning I'm not familiar with, that doesn't make sense. Also, the caption should be severely trimmed, probably just giving his name; if you want further explanation of the picture, you can add an |alt= parameter to the image template. • I tend to agree with Skywalker that most of the hooks are not interesting but I think ALT2 is passable. Gatoclass (talk) 15:33, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Ive copyeditted this. I think the image looks iffy as I cannot see who or when it was made. Victuallers (talk) 14:09, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
Template:PingThis person was a prominent person in Shia history and another person, Shahid Thani, that mention in the ALT2 was interesting Marja' in Najaf for Muslims. Also, Meeting of Muhammad al-Mahdi in occultation is an interesting subject and a few people meet him. The ALT4 show that Ardabili had important and prominent character.Saff V. You are misunderstanding (or more likely I'm failing to explain). Was this picture made 40 years ago by a girl in Iran? Don't know. If it was then its copyright and we cannot use it I have just copyeditted this article! I know this person was important enough for people to still be telling stories of his life hundreds of years after he died. He was a Grand Ayatollah, that is impressive and hooky, so use that phrase and not a more obscure phrase to get readers. Explain the phrase Grand Ayatollah in the article. Feel free to ignore this advice Victuallers (talk) 08:51, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
I used the Grand Ayatollah phrase in the article and explained it in the lead of the article.Saff V. (talk) 11:19, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

Template:PingCan you review the article?Saff V. (talk) 08:00, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
I did copyedit this article and raised a question about the image. Is there an answer? Victuallers (talk) 08:27, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Template:PingI found the image in commons and I don't know who and when was made. If the image has copy right problem, you can remove it in this DYK and the article.Saff V. (talk) 05:09, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
  • A note to those who don't find the occultation hooks interesting According to Shia belief Imam Mahdi disappeared in 941 CE. Ardabili lived during the 16th century. This is the Shi'a Islam equivalent of seeing the second coming of Jesus. It's not just some dude seeing some other dude. Perhaps the hook should be clarified to explain this to those who don't know about Shi'a Islam? Brustopher (talk) 12:42, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
  • I'm trying to clear the hook about the Grand Ayatollah/Marja. (without a picture) So I look for the sentence where its mentioned and it say "Amir Aalaam finally disclosed this story publicly when he had assumed the position of Marja"..... and that sentence has six! references. So how do I find the fact and the reference? Some are in English but don't mention the fact. Could you please supply one reference so I know what I'm checking. Do feel free to find another reviewer ... I'm finding this very tricky. Victuallers (talk) 09:02, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
    • Symbol confirmed.svg Alt2 without image Thanks for adding a single ref. Its a lot clearer. The article is long enough and has enough (too many?) references. The image is used in lots of places but I cannot see see who made it or when it was made so we cannot use it. Its been copyedited twice. Article is neutral. Age is OK and hook is interesting enough. Useful article on very notable person, thanks for creating this. Sorry its taken so long - do come back with another. If Template:Yo wants to create another alt then it will need to be approved, but this has been waiting quite a while. Victuallers (talk) 12:12, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
