Action of 26 April 1797

  • ... that although a Spanish treasure convoy was captured at the Action of 26 April 1797, the cargo had already been smuggled to safety aboard a fishing boat?

Created/expanded by Jackyd101 (talk). Self nom at 19:14, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

  • This is a self-nom from a contributor with more than 10 DYK credits. QPQ review, please. --PFHLai (talk) 02:08, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
  • Symbol question.svg adding symbol to prevent promotion before QPQ is completed. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:13, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
  • This is my first nomination since returning from an 18 month hiatus and the process seems to have changed in my absence. What is a QPQ? (and by the way, how do you know how many DYKs I've I had - I've got no idea)--Jackyd101 (talk) 16:42, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Welcome back! Sorry about the acronym. There has been a new rule instituted that anyone nominating their own article who has already had five or more successful DYK nominations must do a quid pro quo review of one of the other unreviewed DYK nominations in order for their own nomination to receive final approval. There's a tool out there that will look at a person's talk page and its archives and figure out how many DYK thank yous a person received; just looking through your own talk page, I see six in the four most recent archives. So, pick out an unreviewed nomination, review it, and post which one it was here. Thanks! BlueMoonset (talk) 18:13, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg QPQ satisfied, article previously confirmed as otherwise "good to go", so the nomination is approved. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:59, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks for performing the peer review. May I suggest using this hook on MainPage on 26th April, please? --PFHLai (talk) 08:30, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
A DYK on the 26 April is a good idea, didn't realise they could be delayed in this way.--Jackyd101 (talk) 20:54, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes, if a DYK nomination fits a day up to six weeks in the future, we can delay them for that particular date. (April Fools hooks can be delayed up to a year; they're a special exception.) I'll set up April 26 in the "Special occasion holding area" at the bottom of this page, and move this hook there. Thanks for responding so quickly! BlueMoonset (talk) 20:59, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
