Australian College of Educators, Buntine Oration

5x expanded by EdChem (talk). Self-nominated at 14:57, 7 July 2016 (UTC).

  • Template:Ping Symbol question.svg Is the Buntine oration still going on? The article says it happens every two years and doesn't mention any cancellation, but the table ends in 2008. Smurrayinchester 15:41, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
Excellent question, and I have sent a message to the ACE to get the answer to that question, but they haven't responded. I wondered if the new Jean Blackburn Oration mentioned in the ACE page that started in 2014 was a replacement, but there is little information on that either. EdChem (talk) 15:46, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
If that issue can be cleared up, this looks fine. The Australian College of Educators article is in good shape, long enough, new enough (since it was rescued from copyvio on 29 June), is well cited. The hook is cited in both articles. Smurrayinchester 15:41, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
Template:Ping I have had a response from the ACE confirming that the 2008 presentation was the last but the person didn't know why. Not sure what to do about that. Thoughts? EdChem (talk) 14:18, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
Template:Ping Hmm... if you can't find a source, perhaps the best bet is to not change anything except start "The Buntine oration was..." Smurrayinchester 20:51, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
Template:Ping I've put in most recent is 2008. Is that sufficient? EdChem (talk) 01:06, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
I think so. Smurrayinchester 10:50, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg So to confirm: the articles are both long enough, new enough and well cited. I see no copyvio problems (indeed, the article was rescued from former copyvio status). The hook is of the right length, is sourced, and is interesting. Fair use rationale on images in articles are fine. Smurrayinchester 10:50, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
