2017 state visit of the United States to the United Kingdom

Created by DarjeelingTea (talk). Self-nominated at 08:22, 16 April 2017 (UTC).

  • Template:Ping: interesting article - I have a DYK nom below on a similar but opposite type of visit from 100 years before...
Symbol question.svg This article is new enough, long enough and NPOV. QPQ not done.
The hook doesn't work because (a) it is too long (237 characters), (b) the tense is wrong: "reportedly caused security concerns" suggests the visit has happened already (it would need to be something like "the preparations for ... are reportedly causing security concerns...") and (c) I don't think it is particularly interesting. I would advocate for the hook below:
  • ALT1: ...that the planned October 2017 state visit of the US President to the UK will be only the third in history?

Oncenawhile thanks for your suggestion, I'd be fine with your alternate hook. DarjeelingTea (talk) 02:46, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Symbol delete vote.svg Nominator has been blocked indefinitely as a sockpuppet, and the QPQ supplied was not properly done, as the hook was too long (much like this one was), so it cannot be counted. Marking for closure as unsuccessful. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:33, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
