1927 FA Cup Final

  • ALT1:... that the phrase "back to square one" was first used at the 1927 FA Cup Final?
  • ALT2:... goalkeeper Dan Lewis blamed a greasy shirt for letting in the only goal of the 1927 FA Cup Final, gifting victory to Cardiff City?
  • Reviewed: Béla Grünwald
  • Comment: This is probably a little early, but it would be cool if it could be saved for this year's FA Cup Final on 21 May.

  • Symbol confirmed.svg As a Gooner and an Englishman, this does frustrate me to think about it. Nevertheless, date, hooks and expansion fine. I think ALT0 or ALT2 would be best. QPQ done. Fully support the notation to hold for 21 May and I am invoking IAR to allow for it. Would have been better if either side had made it. (thanks a lot watford! :( ) The C of E God Save the Queen! • Symbol question.svg Hi, I came by to promote this, and wondered if you have citations for the 2 charts? Yoninah (talk) 15:04, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg If you're referring to the summary of how the teams got to the final, it is already referenced in the text where it states how they got to the final. Restoring green tick, my original review stands. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:33, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol question.svg But the text doesn't mention the scores. Perhaps cites should be added for the scores in the charts. Yoninah (talk) 15:40, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg Yes it does, it's just done using words rather than numbers. I think you misread it here, green tick restored. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 15:54, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Just to make it 100% clear, I've added ref columns to the two tables and inserted the cites from the text into them. Miyagawa (talk) 21:39, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
