This template will add tagged articles to a cleanup category according to the month and year given.

What is a partial citation?

A partial citation is a link to a website with insufficient identifying information. Links which fail to identify the work cited, or which fail to identify the publication date or author when this information is available, are incomplete. Thia bibliographic data is helpful, sometimes essential, in fighting Link rot. It is also important in allowing readers to assess the source and hence the quality and relevance of citations without needing to follow many links.

How to use

Note that the refill script will generally not fix partial citations that include any data beyond a bare URL. When further detail is needed in several citations on an article paste this at the top of an article with incomplete references:

{{Cleanup Partial Cites|date=May 2023}}

Save the page. Someone else may fix the incomplete references.

This template will add tagged articles to Category:Articles with incomplete citations and Category:Wikipedia cleanup, or a dated subcategory thereof. It will also be added to Category:Articles covered by WikiProject Wikify.
