Summary

A young boy dresses for and interacts with rain and puddles on his street in this simple and joyous springboard book.[1]

Pros

More evocative in their use of language than many other board books, this quartet traces small moments in the life of a young boy named Joshua, the main character is an African American boy. He dons slicker and galoshes in the first book to parade joyfully to do jumping, hopping, all in yellow through puddles with rain feet.[2] This is a short and sweet board book about a young kind enjoying the rain.[3]

This book is quite short. It makes a great read-aloud for Baby and is very interactive with onomatopoeia, action words, and descriptions that activate multiple senses. That’s quite a feat for a simple board book with no more than five words on each of its ten pages! Very simple book for the little one. This book is good to encourage the children to be confidence to play with themselves. [4]
