Controversy

In July 2014, Oliver Koffi, previous workers of Louis Vuitton's shop in London sued the brand over bigoted comments, said the chief of the shop told an African representative that "Black people are slaves who eat soil off the floor", among other decision comments about different races and religions. Koffi charges that these remarks were made in a "cold and genuine" way and made a "unfriendly and scaring" working environment, however the supervisor later professed to have been kidding.[3]

In June 2020, Virgil Abloh, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton Men's Wear, sparks critics soon after posting via online media a screen capture showing that he had made a $50 donation to an association aprotesters' legal costs when his manifestations can cost a few hundred thousand dollars or considerably more.[4] Abloh additionally said that the plundering of the business during George Floyd protests was an illustration of why "streetwar is dead".[5] He later on apologized on his Instagram with respect to the commenthe made and explained that he had given $20,500 for donation and will continue to donate in the future[6]
