Pros

This book highlights the positive things about people who are mostly portrayed in a negative light. It is important to have positive role models who look just like them and be inspired through it to give it their best and excel in life. The added descriptions of what African Americans have contributed to the world was a wonderful touch. It is inspiring and offers information on African American leaders. The idea that “Brown” can do multiple jobs is lovely. The illustrations are expressive and colorful. [3]
