Pros

Ashli Harper, one of the reader, gave her detailed opinion about this book. She explained that it was a fictional story about the steps to becoming president. She thought this book was actually going to be about a black boy becoming president but it actually wasn't. The book presented steps of the process with a different character representing every racial group and gender throughout the entire book. Basically saying anyone can run for president if they want to. She loved how at the end they have the little black girl becoming president since that's something that has never been done yet. This book was a good read for her students. Good language and made understanding the process of becoming the president easier to comprehend. The illustrations were nice and detailed done by Lynne Avril. Although this book wasn't specifically focused on African-American boys, she still felt like it fits the topic. It was still encouraging to all.[3]

Maia Binswanger also agreed with Harper's opinion. She thought this book was special because it showed a way to explain how the presidential campaign works, and the democratic parties in a simple and non-bias way. It was a cute stray and a good way to explain it to children. The main character was African-American, and there were other background characters of all races, and she really liked that detail because it showed diversity and now everyone can feel included.[3]
