Simone Da Costa is a writer, author, publisher and freelance magazine writer. She has written many articles for several North American Magazines. She has published a devotional day planner Remember to Pray, a 2013 Day Planner, as well as two children's books: A Silly Rhyming Alphabet Book About Animals from A to Z, and her recently published book Emily-Rose's Day at the Farm. Simone is a writer who enjoys the compelling feeling that writing brings. We all knew that her writing is seen as a tool with which to free yourself in a limitless world of playful words while at the same time welcome your ideas, thoughts and imagination onto the page. Most off all, the passion to write is, simply put, inspiring, challenging, enjoying and empowering. Simone operates a blog called Simone's Blog Depicting the writer in you. Summary

This is an inspirational book that aims to empower young black girls. It liberates them to believe that they too are beautiful despite society notion of what beauty is. In an era where the popular idealistic images of beauty are based on the Western World s realism of beauty, it illustrates that beauty begins with knowing who you are, believing it and accepting yourself as you are.A great book to be read by the parents to their children to build their self esteem and confidence.[1]

A beautiful opinion was written by one of online site, it explained that Simone Da Costa showed that everyone is beautiful and beauty is much more than physical features. I am Beautiful does not ignore the existence of physical beauty, but instead shows that there are no clear-cut lines on what beauty is, unlike what is currently perceived as beauty around the world. Beauty is the result of how you choose to look at yourself and refusing to give in to the current preset demarcations. By including questions and exercises in the book, it enables readers to look past the preset lines on what is and is not beautiful and look at the notion of beauty from a whole new angle. [2]

The author, Simone Da Costa has captured all the most beautiful and empowering elements of what it is like to be a black girl. Through the wonderful illustrations of Hatice Bayramoglu the true beauty of being black is celebrated. The different skin tones, hair types and styles, the cultural differences which make for the facial differences and variation in bone structure, depending on where in the world they originated, and most importantly, this book is so inspiring, a true confirmation of the beauty of a black girl. It is great way to promote self-esteem in a nice way, and stil the confidence that knowing you are beautiful naturally brings. [3]
