Home: Adventures with Top & Oh is an American animatedchildren TV series, developed by Ryan Crego and Thurop Van Orman. The series debuted on July, 2016 as a Netflix original series, and on Universal Kids in March 2019. The series is set after the events of the 2015's movie HOME. Both the movie and the animated series was produced by DreamWorks Animation. The series consisted of 4 seasons, spanned over 53 episodes with one holiday special, "Home for the Holidays"[1].

Plot

The animated series follows the galaxy's dynamic duo Tip Tucci, a quirky teenage girl, and a misfit alien Boov. As they navigate the crazily combined human and alien culture, finding adventure everywhere they go[2].

Empowerment

The Afro-Caribbean main character Tip have a non-traditional family, and the show consistently shown Tip with her natural smushed Afro. Those are the examples from the show that brings the daily experiences of Black women of color to the screen. She is a strong female character that embrace her individuality and assertiveness as a woman of color. The show display a constant reminder to be open to diversity. The show also took on body acceptance, current diversity topics and also introduction to gender fluidity. Highlighted on how to be open to those who don't fit the binary[3].
