Harlem Globetrotters is an animated Saturday-morning cartoon series airing from September 1970 to 1972 on CBS produced by Hanna Barbera and CBS Productions. The show have 22 episodes in total, spanned over 2 season. The rerun entitled, "The Go-Go Globetrotters" was later aired on NBD[1]. In 1972, the comic adaptation of the series was launched by Gold Key Comics.

Plot

The show centers around the team members, Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neal, Hubert "Geese" Ausbie, J.C "Gip" Gipson, Bobby Joe Mason, and Paul "Pablo" Robertson. With their dog mascot Dribbles, their fictional bus driver and manager Granny, they travel along into a comedic adventure around the world.

Empowerment

The Harlem Globetrotters series was the first Saturday-morning cartoon to feature a predominately African-American cast[2]. The show was considered to be the first positive black cast series while also featuring Black athletes, this marked the first time any sport team had its own TV series[3].
