Clif Bar & Company is an American company that produces organic foods and drinks. The company's flagship product, CLIF Bar, was created by Gary Erickson and Lisa Thomas. The company is based in Emeryville, California, and is privately held.[1]

Other than its signature original Clif Bar, the company produces a variety of energy bars tailored to women, children, and other markets, a sports drink, and fruit-based items such as fruit ropes. In 2014, the company unveiled four gel-like squeezable 'energy foods' that were expanded in early 2016 to encompass six flavors. All products use organic ingredients. Seventy percent of the company's purchased ingredients are certified organic.[2]

Supports to Black community

CLIF bar donated $100,000 to Color Of Change and their partner, the African People’s Education and Defense Fund. They also produced a message of support and solidarity with the Black community to publicize the donation.

They are showing the importance of aiding community organizations and community leaders who are putting in the good work. Brands should recognize that you may not have the answers but investing in organizations that do will help fight against inequalities and address the problems of systemic racism that continues to persist and harms communities when it comes to education, housing, healthcare, and other pressing issues they face.[3]

Suspending Facebook Advertising

Clif Bar stands with those who are fighting to uphold the civil rights of Black Americans and ensuring that all people are treated equally with dignity and respect. They join Color Of Change, the NAACP, the ADL, Sleeping Giants, Free Press, and Common Sense Media and the many organizations leading the Stop Hate for Profit movement. Clif Bar suspend advertising on Facebook and Instagram globally through the end of 2020 to pressure them to adopt stricter policies to help curb systemic racism, starting with removing dangerous hate speech and misinformation.[4]
