Class of 3000 is an Emmy Award-winning American animated musical TV series, created and executive produced by André 3000 aired on Cartoon Network from 2006 to 2008 spanned over 2 seasons. Andre also starred in the show as the voice of Sunny Bridges one of the main characters.

Plot

Set in Atlanta, a world famous jazz and blues superstar Sunny Bridges has become disillusioned with celebrity life. Ultimately resulting him quitting and moving back to his hometown to retire. Self-proclaimed number one fan of Sunny,Lil'D, discovers that he's back in town. Lil'D successfully reignite Sunny's love for music and made Sunny agrees to become their music teacher at the local Westley School of Performing Arts, that is currently at risk of shutting down its music program[1]. Lil'D's friends and classmates are Philly Phil, Tamika Jones, Kim and Kam Chin, Madison Spaghettini Papadopoulos, and Edward "Eddie" Phillip James Lawrence III.

Black Empowerment

The show features a racially and socio-economically diverse cast of kids, colorful animation, and imaginative storylines[2]. Class of 3000 specifically acknowledges Atlanta's culture. It is one of the rare cartoons that doesn't portray the city of Atlanta as neither devoid of African-Americans or mainly hillbilly/pre-Civil Rights Movement-era stereotypes (or both)[3]. Sunny makes his students research an instrument from their heritage, and this element represents the early stages of diversity in animation[4].
