Giorgio Armani S.p.A. (pronounced [ˈdʒordʒo arˈmaːni]), famously known as Armani, is an Italian luxury fashion house established by Giorgio Armani, a fashion designer, and Sergio Galeotti, an architectural draftman. The company designs, manufactures, distributes and retails haute couture, ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, watches, jewelry, accessories, eyewear, cosmetics and home interiors.[1]The organization portrays themselves as “providing quality, sophistication and style-timeless values with global appeal”. The brand distribute their product under several different labels such as: Giorgio Armani Privé, Giorgio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Emporio Armani (including EA7), Armani Jeans, Armani Junior, and Armani Exchange.[2] The brand uses the relationship of the Armani name with high-design, profiting by its renown in the fashion industry.

In 2017, Giorgio Armani declared that the company will close two of its fashion labes, Armani Collezioni and Armani Jeans, as a part of the rebuilding cycle for his company. While Armani Collezioni will converge once more into the "Giorgio Armani" line, Armani Jeans will become one with the Emporio Armani line because of their similitudes in styles and the utilization of a similar brand logo.[3]

Controversy

In April 2014, an Instagram photograph that the Armani group distributed from night of Governors Awards created a ruckus on the internet. The brand mislabeled Alfre Woodard, the black actrees in the photograph, as a black actor Idris Elba. The first post was quickly taken out and updated soon after, with an expression of remorse from Armani that said the post was "typed a too fast and didn't remember to proofread" mistake.[4]
