All This And Rabbit Stew is a 1941 Merrie Melodies cartoon short directed by Tex Avery. The cartoon was released on September 13, 1941 and features Bugs Bunny.[1] It's notable for being one of the four Bugs Bunny cartoons and being such a controversial racially offensive cartoon that it is included on the Censored Eleven list, a list of 11 cartoons banned from being distributed by United Artist in 1968.[2]

Plot

The plot features Bugs Bunny being hunted by a slow-witted Afro-American hunter who is a hodge-podge of every possible stereotype associated with black Americans at the time big feet and large lips. The hunter speaks in the standard ethnic dialect for African American fictional characters in popular culture at the time. Hence as a result its nowadays perhaps more notorious for the controversy than for its artistic merits.
The hunter repeatedly hunts Bugs Bunny until he encounter with bear in the cave and transforms into a fireball fleeing at top speed. Trying to hunt down Bugs Bunny but the hunter end up running off a cliff, he changes into a "sucker" lollipop after Bugs suckers. Doesn't give up the hunter back and point the rifle to Bugs in reaction his limbs briefly separate from his body in all directions while he screams in fright at the hunter’s gun.
Scared Bugs entices him to gamble and proceeds to literally win the hunter's clothes and rifile. Then, the bunny derisively imitates his humiliated predator’s shuffle and dialect.[3]

The Controversy

The Gambling Addict: The hunter drops everything including his clothes and rifle for game of craps with Bugs Bunny, which was stereotypical behavior attributed to blacks at the time.
Ethnic Stereotypes: The Afro-American hunter is depicted as being dim-witted, slow, big lipped, speaks in Afro-American jive and is obsessed with playing dice games.[4]
Bugs Bunny using "stupid, stupid" when the hunter fall from the cliff.
The Hunter turns into "sucker" lollipop whenever he fooled by Bugs Bunny.
