ASAI stands for Actively Stand Against Injustice, is a brand founded by A Sai Ta, a British designer who has become well known for his tie-dyed prints. On ASAI's website, it is written how the brand's intention is to discontinue the systemic discrimination against the marginalised communities. [1]

Rihanna wearing hot-pink Hot Wok mini from ASAI

One of ASAI's signature collections, Hot Wok asymmetric mini dress, was worn by Rihanna. Not only Rihanna, some notable figures were also seen wearing the Hot Wok pieces, such as Steve Lacy, Jorja Smith, and Dev Hynes.

Those benefiting from its sale are Black Lives Matter, which campaigns against violence and the systemic racism faced by black people, Solace Women’s Aid, which supports women and children subjected to abuse and violence, and The Voice of Domestic Workers, which calls for justice and rights for the UK’s 16,000 migrant domestic workers. [2]

London-born A Sai has chosen to utilize the design – which only he himself and Rihanna own – to "contribute something tangible" to the fight against systemic racism and injustice. “My intention is to support three charities that are significant in recognizing oppression and, specifically, not to profit from sales of the dress. It's a clear act on my part to mobilize the change that I can through my brand." [3]
