Usage
This template places the page in Category:Candidates for history splitting. Note that this is a hidden category, and so will not show up on the page by default.
Place this template on the article to be split (not on the talk page). In more complex cases (explained at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge), please leave a description of the problem at the Wikipedia:Requests for history merge.
Parameters
- first parameter or originalpage - Page that needs to be created.
- reason - short reason.
- details - if present, will add the text This is a complex history split request and a collapsed show/hide box listing the details.
When NOT to use this template
For very complex splits, splits involving more than two pages, or when the use of this template is otherwise inadequate or where its usage would cause problems, list the request in Wikipedia:Requests for history merge.
