This template may be included on talk pages or editnotices to alert other editors that the associated article is written in [[{{{variant}}}]]. Usually, the article either has evolved using predominantly this variety or has strong ties to a particular English-speaking nation that uses this variety.

Talk page usage

To use this template on an article's talk page, place {{English variant notice/documentation/sandbox}} near the top of the talk page. This produces the following:

A smaller version is also available, by typing {{English variant notice/documentation/sandbox|small=yes}}. This looks like this:

Placing this template will also add the page to [[:Category:Wikipedia articles that use {{{variant}}}]].

Editnotice usage

To use this template on an article's editnotice, {{English variant notice/documentation/sandbox|form=editnotice}} is placed (without |form=editnotice if the template name ends with "editnotice") on the editnotice template. This produces the following:



All users can create editnotices for their user and talk pages but only administrators and template editors can create or edit editnotices in other namespaces. Thus, to request this template be added to an article or other page in a restricted namespace, you can make your request at its talk page, using the template {{adminhelp}}.
