Plot

After her sibling is killed in an unsuccessful labor of equity, aspiring inventor Claudette 'CJ' Walker utilizes her logical psyche to make two time machines, one for her, and the other for her companion Sebastian. As they utilize the machines to attempt to adjust the day CJ's sibling was killed, they come to get familiar with the final proposal of time travel: All Actions Have Consequences.[2]

Controversy

The movie brings up the story about how black people are having a hard time dealing with the police in Brooklyn (NY). In order to stop a white policeman from killing a young black kid, a girl travels back in time to alter history. The director clearly wanted to make a movie about how severely individuals of color are treated by the police in America, which is a subject too serious to even consider being placed in the possession of two children who just travel back to toss slush at their exes. [2]

See You Yesterday also tells years of tension between black New Yorkers and the New York Police Department. In this movie, the idea of time travel turns into an allegory for the manipulated situation of social injustice.[3]

The movie has a political message that implicitly shows that cops are evil who kills black people for fun.

The movie has also a 'political' messages, like cops are evil and kill black people for sport. Despite the fact that this film shows a lot of dark on-dark crime, it's actually portrayed exclusively in light of prejudice. For these black travelers, there are only yesterdays to contend with; tomorrow is just a dream.[4]
