Santa's Workshop of Silly Symphony cover

Santa’s Workshop is a Disney short film directed by Wilfred Jackson, first released on December 10, 1932[1]. It was fourth episode of the Silly Symphonies. The film features Santa preparing for Christmas in his workshop.

The original film featured a scene of a blackface doll. The film is included in the extra "From the Vault" section, because of racial stereotypes among the toys[2]

A black doll appearance in the "Santa's Workshop" film

The 1932 Silly Symphonies short, "Santa's Workshop" shows a “black” doll pictured in the style of a black child. After a white doll arrives down through the pipeline, the black doll falls on its face, shouts “Mammy” in front of Santa Claus, and then yearns the screen[3]. It is believed that the scream referred to Mammy. The short was remade and released on November 12th 2019 on Disney+ with the blackface doll scene removed.
