The film was written by Melissa Haizlip and directed by Melissa Haizlip and Sam Pollard. Tthe film was showing how Ellis Haizlip, an African American television host, urevolutionized the tv program through African American literature, poetry, music, and culture[1].

Ellis Haizlip, an African American producer and tv host, has carried a reward to the media business with "Soul!". Soul! tried to show the excellence of African American literature such as poetry, music, and dances.
