Little Bill is an American flash-animated children's TV series debuted on November 1999 until September 2006. The series was created by Bill Cosby, aired on Nick Jr. spanned over 52 episodes for 4 seasons. The series are based on a book series of the same name, created by Bill Cosby and ilustrated by Varnette P. Honeywood.

Plot

Set in Philadelphia, the show centers on Little Bill and his family as he explores everyday life through his imagination. At the end of the show, Little Bill always breaks the fourth wall by summarizing his day to the audience every time before going to bed, but sometimes he talks to his pet hamster ,named Elephant ,then there's an ongoing catchphrase from on of his family members closed every show that says "Little Bill ,who are you talking to?"[1]

Empowerment

In the early 2000s there were very few Black cartoons, the character were usually featured as the friend or on supporting role to the the main character. Little Bill has filled that gap, and depicts a non-stereotypical Black boy who was curious, imaginative, and just a normal boy who was allowed to be a kid. Little Bill represented a revolution in Black boyhood[2]. The animated series is also listed in the nytimes.com as one of the 11 Black animated series that shows a rich depictions of non-stereotypical Black families[3].
