Plot

Rosa Parks refused to give her seat up on a bus and started a blacklist that changed America. Harriet Tubman helped many slaves get away from the South on the Underground Railroad. Shirley Chisholm became the first black woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. The existences of ten Black ladies activists are highlighted in a mind blowing anecdote about  courage in the face of oppression; about the difficulties and wins of the fight for civil rights; and about standing up for what you believe in — even when it seems like nobody is listening.[1] MMany of the women also needed to battle against bias toward women notwithstanding their causes. Some didn't live to see the consequences of their battle, however effective or not, all were courageous leaders who created the way for more democratic and inclusive America. [2]

Anti-racism value

Mixing straightforward narrative with an enthusiastic narrating style, the creator adjusts the difficulties and racial  injustice that these ladies faced against their confidence, strength of character, and etermination. The book incorporates numerous statements, episodes, and details that lead readers down their own ways to historical recognition.[3]
