Pros

A compilation comments by some verified readers had been made to show how beautiful this book was, there was much good stuff in this book. A Black boy and his father, sharing domestic responsibilities, demonstrating that work and play co-exist, being silly with an adult. First, the duo spends the a lot of time cleaning the house, folding clothes, doing dishes, and vacuuming. it showed two males engaging in household roles that were generally assigned to women. Through this book, young children were able to see that different families spend their time together in different ways, and that the roles of people in the family could be different from what they experience at home. After all the cleaning was done, the father and son went play baseball and then went to the movies. This book promotes healthy relationships and social emotional stability. Certain strategies or lessons about the differences in families and social emotional well being could be embedded throughout this book. Fathers play a very important role in young males lives. This would be a great book to read to your class so that students can relate to this story whether its their father or a father figure in their life. [3]
