While the game was less popular with the mainstream media, the game was controversial among Americans. The Anti-Deflamation League, an anti-racist organization, lobbied the developer of Genesis3D to ban the engine usage for racist game development. Moreover, they lobbied the Interactive Digital Software Association to implement the policies [2] The review of the game was negative. Stuff stated Ethnical cleansing as the 40th most controversial video game in January 2003. Complex and UGO had ranked the game as the most racist game of all time. K Thor Johnson, UGO staff writer, called it “profoundly stupid”. It was estimated that thousands of copies had been sold within a month of its release and 90% of the sale was from teenage boys. Twitch has banned the game from being streamed on its platform due to the racism. The chairman of the National Alliance, Shaun Walker rebuked that the game was designed to provoke and promote racial segregation. William Luther Pierce, the founder of the National Alliance, claimed that the game was pushing “upcoming white revolution”, and the game was the medium to increase awareness from the organization’s message.
