S&P Global Inc. (prior to April 2016 McGraw Hill Financial, Inc., and prior to 2013 McGraw–Hill Companies) is an American publicly traded corporation headquartered in Manhattan, New York City. Its primary areas of business are financial information and analytics. It is the parent company of S&P Global Ratings, S&P Global Market Intelligence, and S&P Global Platts, CRISIL, and is the majority owner of the S&P Dow Jones Indices joint venture. "S&P" is a shortening of "Standard and Poor's".[1]

S&P Global now organizes its businesses in four units based on the market in which they are involved, which are S&P Global Ratings, S&P Global Market Intelligence, S&P Dow Jones Indices and S&P Global Platts.

Actions to combat racism and discrimination

S&P Global President and CEO Doug Peterson shares a statement after the horrific death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. He mentioned that S&P Global have no tolerance for racism or discrimination of any sort. They put their people first and live and demonstrate their core values.[2]
