![]() | This is a documentation subpage for Template:Edit semi-protected. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
Place {{editsemiprotected}}
on a talk page to request an edit of the corresponding article page. It should be accompanied by a clear and specific description of the requested change. Providing the new sentences or code in your request, that may be copied directly into the page, will expedite the process.
Recommended action upon resolution
Once a request is handled, it's best to leave the {{editsemiprotected}}
tag as an un-transcluded tag by changing it to, for example, {{tlx|editsemiprotected}}
. This removes the message box from the talk page and removes the talk page from the category, while still leaving a record of the request.
The Template {{ESp}}
is also useful. In particular, {{ESp|?}}
is very commonly needed, to respond to insufficiently specific requests.
