Brad Carter

  • ... that Brad Carter played guitar during his 2013 brain surgery?

  • This article is brand new, long enough, and meets policy requirements. The hooks both appear OK. I would recommend the ALT1 hook, which is more likely to catch the interest of readers. No image is being offered.
I have some concerns, though. The article itself is awkwardly worded and needs polishing by someone who is a native speaker of English; until this is done, I am hesitant to publicize this article on the enwiki front page. The nominator (Template:U) also appears to have submitted enough DYK's in the past that he needs to review something for QPQ, but I see no indication here of such a review. I'm Symbol possible vote.svg reserving judgment on this nomination until these issues have been resolved. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 04:49, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
I've requested Template:U to polish the article, while I will do a review (QPQ) done right after copy-edit's done. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 13:09, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
I did my part. I suggest requesting more copy editing at WP:GOCE/REQ, but waiting time is kinda long. George Ho (talk) 16:37, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

OK, the article quality is much better now, so I've withdrawn my objection. Still waiting for a QPQ review, but I'm inclined at present to declare this one "good to go" (using the ALT1 hook) as soon as the QPQ issue has been taken care of. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 18:23, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
Template:Ping QPQ is done. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 03:49, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
Wait a minute, Template:U — it's not clear to me whether the "real" review for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 2) nomination was done by you, or by Template:U. Can you clarify this, or else perhaps review something else instead? — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 04:01, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
I'm also confused about that, he did not let me complete the review, I put on-hold and the next day he completed it. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 04:08, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
I do believe that you made a good-faith effort to review the above DYK. However, Northamerica1000 did a more detailed review and caught a couple of things which you didn't notice (namely, that the nominator is still exempt from QPQ, and that the hook didn't substantiate a claim clearly made/sourced in the article as it stood at the time). So I really can't justify giving you QPQ credit here. Please review some other DYK, being more careful to show that all the requirements have been met (i.e., treat the list of criteria shown when you edit a DYK nom as a checklist and cite the individual criteria in your review). If you feel my rejection of your QPQ here is not proper, please start a discussion about it at Wikipedia talk:Did you know and see what other DYK people think. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 04:33, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
Template:Ping No, I understand your point clearly. I've reviewed another one. Thanks. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 09:45, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

  • OK, my previously stated concerns have all been addressed to my satisfaction. This DYK is Symbol confirmed.svg good to go with the ALT1 hook. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 16:50, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
