MQ Vienna Fashion Week

The MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the world’s largest complexes for art and culture in the center of Vienna. Q21, the creative space within the MuseumsQuartier, is spread across more than 7000m² and provides a workspace for around 50 initiatives, organizations, agencies and editorial offices active in the cultural sphere. Q21 tenants work across a wide variety of fields such as fashion, enabling the MQ Vienna Fashion Week / Combinat to bring international fashion designers to Vienna.

The MQ Vienna Fashion Week (MQVFW) will be established as the ideal platform, a central location for designers and exhibitors, fashion shows, side events and exhibitions. It will take center stage as well as presentations on industrial and international designs. The Mq Vienna Fashion Week also sees itself as a shopping paradise: visitors can see, try and buy the latest collections of designers in the shopping area of Quartier21 - and be inspired by the highlights of the fashion season.[1]

MQVFW 2018 Closing Show: Colors Of The World

Under the motto "Colors of the World" MQ Vienna Fashion Week found its crowning closing. The final show, staged and choreographed by Mario Soldo, united traditional fashion from all parts of the world and showed how culturally connecting HUMANA vintage pieces can be worked with.

The Closing Show began with exuberant applause for Vic Cooper. The designer brought Miami-feelings to the catwalk and dressed the models in pastel pink, neon and silver shimmering dresses and bodies.

The second program of the Closing Show: Marianne Kohn showed her specially created collection. Male models in black hooded dresses gathered on the catwalk and presented Kohn's current Povera-Gschertindien collection. The Models walk down the runway with white inscriptions such as "Make Warhol not War!" or "Chaos!", acting like messengers in whose black-and-white demeanor lies a colorful, diverse intent.

The third show highlight was provided by the colorful cooperation with HUMANA People to People. Mario Soldo and his team dressed the approximately 150 models with an incredible flair for traditional pieces from all over the world, such as Mexico, Peru, Africa, Thailand, Myanmar and many more.

The end of a great world tour, with countless colorful, wafting impressions and a wide world that now seems a little closer and more united. Turban and sombrero off for this brilliant end of the tenth Vienna Fashion Week![2]
